From a young age, Seema was immersed in the world of theatre through her father, Shri Madanlal Kapoor, who ran one of India’s few Parsi theatre companies at the time. Her mother, Shrimati Kamal Shabnam Kapoor, was an eminent Urdu and Hindi poet, a classical singer, and a dedicated teacher, whose influence fostered in Seema a profound respect for literature and music. This rich familial background laid the foundation for her artistic inclinations, infusing her work with a unique depth and understanding.
Throughout her career, Seema has had the privilege of working with esteemed figures in Indian theatre, such as Mr. Habib Tanveer, Shri Astad Deboo, Shri Rajendra Nath, and Shri Ranjeet Kapoor. Her expertise also extends into puppetry, having represented India through the Shri Ram Centre for Art & Culture on international stages in the U.S.S.R., Germany, Japan, Bulgaria, Canada, and beyond. These experiences brought her into the company of celebrated puppetry artists, including India’s Dadi Padamjee, Sweden’s Gunter Wetzel, and Russia’s Sergei Obraztsov.
